Founded in 1979, Western Colloid is recognized in the roofing industry as a leader in fluid applied roofing and reflective coating systems.
Western Colloid’s founder began applying coatings and fluid applied systems in the 1960’s. He installed asphalt emulsion systems on many notable companies throughout the West, including Boeing, Weyerhaeuser, Fred Meyers, TRW, Certified Grocers, Payless and Thrifty Drug, to name a few. He became the largest fluid applied roofing contractor in the Western United States.
In the 1970s he built his own manufacturing facilities, which became known as Western Colloid. As a successful contractor he understood the need for consistent, quality products. He also knew that in order to help this sector of the roofing industry grow he would have to provide contractor services that were effective and unique.
Today Western Colloid operates the largest fleet of tankers servicing the roofing and coating industry in the United States. This allows contractors to keep installation costs low and helps the environment by reducing the use of barrels and pails. This is only part of the services that Western Colloid provides to it’s customers.
Western Colloid uses innovative, state of the art facilities to manufacture it's asphalt emulsions and water based coatings. Teamed with companies such as Rohm and Haas, Western Colloid develops and manufactures some of the finest roof coatings available.
Western Colloid manufactures products that are classified by Underwriters Laboratories. We are committed to producing systems that are environmentally friendly and energy efficient. As an Energy Star® partner, Western Colloid proudly offers several coatings with the Energy Star® label. As a leader in roof maintenance systems, Western colloid is committed to reducing landfill use by indefinitely extending the life of existing roof systems.
Western Colloid is also a leader in the pavement maintenance industry. Our unique and specialized capabilities in emulsion technology gives us the ability to manufacture premium asphalt sealcoats and pavement maintenance systems.
